For far too long, society has been dictating what success means through marketing and advertising to sell products or services. Telling us if we do this or buy that, we’ll feel success. Women especially are targets of this with everything from motherhood, to makeup, to our clothing and how our homes look. While there is nothing wrong with wanting these things per se, the problem is that we’re led to believe that buying them will bring us one step closer to success. We're successful as parents if we have just the right baby items. To be perceived as successful, we’ll need the latest fashion styles to display that. And don’t even get me started on the myth that success is a healthy body size of extra small.
A common myth in business is that we're successful if we hit seven figures or more, and if we’re not generating that kind of income, it’s likely because we’re not doing something right. We’re either not working hard enough, smart enough, haven’t learned the secret, hired enough people, trained with the right guru, or a whole host of other things.
When in reality, for most of us, seven or eight-figure annual sales weren’t the goals when we started our businesses. But then we started looking around at what others were doing, and we began to doubt ourselves. Is my dream big enough? Is my business successful enough? What do others think? Why don’t the five easy steps so and so offers work for me? Is it because I need more of their training? Or someone else's? Why is it so hard? What am I doing wrong? And the one that most breaks my heart is - do I have what it takes to be an entrepreneur?
I’m here to tell you, YES, you do - and the first step is to recognize the myths of success that create obstacles on your path and then reconnect with what your soul desires for you. I call that Soul Crafted Success ®.
